General
Thanks to premium hardware and the ultimate playability offered by a slim neck profile, the Ibanez SR range has been home to some of the most satisfyingly playable basses released to date. Needless to say, this SR2600 in Cerulean Blue Burst is no exception and features a poplar burl top supported by an African mahogany body that comes decked out with gold-plated hardware. Add on a stunning panga-panga fretboard and youve got a real eye-catcher. To level up the playability, the 24 stainless steel medium frets have even received the Prestige Fret Edge treatment for a smooth, polished feel, while the relatively flat fretboard has been granted a 12-inch radius for eased pitch-bends.
Active Tone Controls, Bypass and Nordstrand Pickups
The SR2600 isn't just easy on the eyes and fret hand but boasts the sonic flexibility of active tone controls that can be used in passive mode whenever needed. By combining the push button and the balancer control of the EQ section, bass cuts and boosts can effortlessly dialled in while the 3-way mid frequency switch allows you to boost or cut the 250 Hz, 450 Hz or 700 Hz frequencies. And then there's the pickups, finishing touches and other extras: Nordstrand Big Single soapbar pickups that pack especially articulated, spiced-up mix-slicing sound; ever-practical luminlay side dots; and an included gig bag for dependable on-the-road protection.
