General
The Unity Pro Bass combo by Blackstar boasts an output of 250 watts, 3 base sounds and 6 practical effects. Whether you have a passive or an active electric bass, the U250 has got you covered! After setting the gain control and pad switch to your bass guitar's output, you can choose between a classic, modern, or 'flat' sound. If you want more clarity, choose between overdrive, distortion or fuzz and adjust the amount of drive manually.
Unity 250: extra effects and response
Select the octave effect to add some mass to the low frequencies. To add some sweetness, go for chorus. The levels are adjustable via the control panel on the rear. To make your sound more balanced or to ensure your playing cuts through the mix, use the Blackstar U250's on-board compressor. It features a 3-band EQ for comprehensive control over the mid frequencies of your solidbody bass. The response control gives you extra options to go for a more linear sound or an emulation of 6L6 or 6550 tubes.
Extra connector features
If you connect a footswitch (sold separately), you can turn the drives or the chorus/octave effect on or off while you're playing. If you want to connect external bass effects, use the mono effects loop. If you want a broader sound, connect the active 250ACT cabinet via the Cab Link output. To play with backing tracks, connect an external device to the MP3/Line input. The Bass Pro U250 has three line outputs and you can record directly in your DAW via USB. Practise at home in silence using the headphone output and utilise the XLR output with ground lift on stage.
